We compare the cost of useful heat delivered to the home, not just the fuel price. Change the heated volume and indicative heat demand to get a seasonal estimate.
This is a comparison estimate, not a heating-system design calculation. Climate zone, indoor temperature, operating hours, real system efficiency and building characteristics can substantially change the result.
Pellets: automatically updated Caminetti-Stufe.com index. Natural gas: €1.344/Smc, ARERA reference for July 2026. Electricity: €0.3163/kWh all-in, Q3 2026 reference. Technical assumptions: pellets 4.95 kWh/kg at 90% efficiency; gas boiler 10.7 kWh/Smc at 92%; heat pump SCOP 3.2.
The monitor reads publicly displayed prices from several Italian retailers. To prevent one retailer with many products from dominating the result, we first calculate a representative price for each source and then take the arithmetic mean of the source values. Where possible we use 15 kg ENplus A1 bags. Implausible values and total pallet prices are excluded.
The check is automatic but not second-by-second. At most every 12 hours, when this page receives a visit, the system attempts to read the sources again. If a website is unavailable or changes layout, the last valid value remains visible rather than publishing an invented number.
Prices depend on season, order quantity, location, transport, promotions, origin and certification. An online price may apply only to one store or collection point. The index is therefore most useful for following direction and market level, not for promising the exact price in your town.
Pre-season offers can be attractive, but there is no guaranteed rule: stocks, availability and energy markets change. If you have a dry storage area, compare the final delivered cost rather than the bag price alone.
Fuel quality matters to a pellet stove. Certification, ash, moisture and actual behaviour in the appliance affect cleaning and combustion stability. Saving a few cents may not be worthwhile if it creates more residue or maintenance.
To avoid combustion problems and keep the stove running consistently, pellets should not be chosen on price alone.
Always follow the manual for the specific model, as some appliances or generations may state slightly different values. Very dusty, irregular or unsuitable pellets can increase residues, dirty the glass and require different settings.
Prices belong to the respective retailers and may change without notice. Caminetti-Stufe.com does not sell the pellet shown in this monitoring sample.
The index above summarises the current sample. Your actual price can be lower or higher depending on location, brand, promotion and quantity.
No. It is a Caminetti-Stufe.com editorial index based on public online prices. The AIEL benchmark, when available, is displayed separately.
Not necessarily. Sources may refer to store collection, local sale or different transport conditions. Always compare the final delivered cost.
The system attempts a new reading at most every 12 hours when the page is visited and keeps the last valid data if a source fails.
It depends on the building heat demand and pellet price. The calculator uses the current pellet index and lets you select low, medium or high demand to compare the estimated seasonal cost with other systems.
For many recent models Edilkamin specifies A1 wood pellets according to UNI EN ISO 17225-2, 6 mm diameter and low moisture. Always check the manual for the specific model.
