Identify when the noise appears
Does it happen only during ignition, whenever pellets feed, at a particular fan speed or during shutdown? Timing often points to the component involved.
Periodic clicking
A repeated sound in step with pellet feed may come from the auger or gear motor. Foreign material or compacted fuel can also create mechanical resistance.
Continuous hum or vibration
Fans, panels and mountings can transmit vibration. A new resonance does not always mean the motor itself is defective.
Scraping or squealing
Contact between rotating parts and deposits, or bearing wear, should be inspected before the problem worsens.
Record a video
A short recording that captures the sound and the operating phase is often very useful when asking for technical support.
Frequently asked questions
Is auger clicking normal?
Some intermittent feed noise is normal, but a new loud click or repeated strain should be checked.
Can cleaning reduce fan noise?
If deposits are causing imbalance or contact, proper servicing can help, but bearing or motor faults require diagnosis.
